Minimizing my footprint on the environment has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, and I wanted to ensure I would not lose focus of this value through my pursuits in the fashion industry. This is why I will be graduating with my certificate in Sustainability in addition to my Bachelor’s Degree. I hope to bring my knowledge of Sustainability I have gained through my coursework and experience abroad into the industry to minimize textile, water, and energy waste in the product development process and create garments with long-lasting use.

Spring semester of 2024 I had the opportunity to travel to Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji for a Sustainability study abroad. I was enrolled in courses such as Conservation Field Studies and People, Profit, and Planet. At the end of my semester, I was asked “What is Progress?” - a theme my professor would continuously bring up. The video below was the answer I came up with after reflecting on the best few months of my life. I hope it resonates.
